Thanks, Zorgon, you are completely right - NetBalancer prioritizes all the processes running on a computer.
But you can also prioritize all the traffic in a local or home network, for that you should use Grouping at Menu>Edit>Network Adapters>Grouping:
- Install NetBalancer on all your computers
- Set the Group name the same for all of them
- Set the Operating Type to Broadcast for all computers
- Enjoy you balanced home network! :)
@Ruslan, SeriousBit
Hi Ruslan, can you be kind and contact Agnitum, they are the makers of Outpost Firewall that was a giveaway just a few days ago. It blocks c:\program files\NetBalancer\SeriousBit.NetBlamcer.UI.exe. Its marked RED MALWARE. It is the real time protection that kicks in and blocks your software from running. I could offcourse make it an exception, but I fail to see the point with a protection software if I put the “threats” in exeption. It is better if the developers, fix this for once and all.
Also the tray file fails, both are submited to Agnitum for check ups.
But if something in your code makes it spring the protection bells, you might wanna have a word with them, and have your software whitelisted.
Thanks, Micke, for letting me know. We'll investigate it and eventually contact Agnitum, if the fault is not on our side.
You don't need a home-network with many computers to use netbalancer.
You can prioritize the different things you're doing simultaniously on the internet with netbalancer on one computer.
You want to download a movie and in the mean time you like to browse the internet for news. Your browsingexperience might be bad because the movie download takes most of the bandwidth.
With netbalancer you can lower de priority for the moviedownload, freeing some bandwith for your newsbrowsing. Ofcourse the movie needs longer to download, but you can read the news with more comfort.
*The Free version is limited to a maximum of 5 process priorities/limits and 5 rules at a time, has no separate network adapters management and no support for Network Grouping
