DL, installed & registered without problem. As with many GOTD offerings, Avast/AVG-type anti-virus must be suspended but MalwareBytes & anti-root kits do not.

No positives on VirusTotal.

Recording video was problem-free. The resolution was surprisingly good, just about matching the quality of the Youtube sources.

But audio was a no-go. Multiple attempts to record audio failed. There is an audio dialog box on the screen under Settings which supposedly allows audio to be toggled on & off. There are two options for audio input - microphone & virtual-audio-capturer. A "line" option must then be selected. The choice for mic is “Master Volume” only and for virtual-audio-capturer it's blank.

The program will not proceed unless a line option is selected displaying the message "Please select Audio line." Since there's no possible selection, in order to record video the audio box must be deselected. This apparent defect severely limits the usefulness of this program.

For those having trouble with the Themidia wrapped installer today and do not want to remove their anti-malware protection just to install a giveaway you can get the same installer unwrapped at:

Compatibility in the installer says it requires XP or later with .NET 2.0 or higher so is unlikely to be using anything advanced like WASAPI so will be bound to the limitations of the hardware and drivers installed for the sound subsystem.

That version accepts the registration information provided in the readme.txt in the giveaway bundle zip so you will need that. I get an exception reported whenever I try to press the gear settings button so cannot see what it offers in the way of settings which does not bode well for the SDK installer they bundle with all their "products" which are really just proof of concept demos for their byteScout SDK which is their real product! The exception data follows:

2cents, I don't let the votes concern me some negative vote a comment if it makes them have to scroll the screen too much! It's not a popularity contest it's comments about the application and the developer and the genre that's the point, if bytescoute want to make an actual product they may be able to use the information... if not people have been warned that the program today is unstable, undeveloped despite being at version 3 and now abandoned by the developers, program crashed on trying to do any capture too but without any user accessible report.
I view less is less when beta testing for the benefit of other giveawayoftheday.com users.

I have version 3.0.0.61 from a another offer. Since this offer is advertised as version 3.0, which is how the 3.0.0.61 version was advertised, this one may be the exact same, or possibly a larger minor version number. If it is the same, there is no need to install this offer. Could someone that has installed it see what version is displayed when the console is open, or check the "About" screen, or check the Properties of the executable and see if it shows a specific version number? I cannot find a single thing on the Bytescout website that informs users what version this is.
