Converta arquivos HEIC do iPhone, iPad, iPod.

A marveloous piece of Cr@@ which will probably be remembered only for its bold claims and for almost anything else....LOL!

Here a review from Softpedia:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/System-Tweak/PcBoost.shtml

BETTER FREE ALTERNATIVES (not mentioned by Ashraf)

* ThrottleStop (==> only for advanced users)
Amazing FREE and highly customizable APP which helps you adjust the performance of your Intel CPU according to the programs you are using, as well as protect your PC from overheating using the 'BD PROCHOT' option. What it does is to automatically detect your CPU type and speed, offering you 4 CPU performance profiles: optimized performance, gaming, Internet navigation and battery support.
For instance, if you choose the "battery support" profile, it lowers the CPU speed by decreasing the multiplier value for your processor, so as to reduce the power usage when your laptop is running on battery. Cool, isn't it? Perfect for laptop nerds like me.....LOL!

* (Portable) Actual Booster
As the award winning "Process Lasso" this magic tiny cool FREE tool can dramatically optimize your PC performance, making your system faster and more stable, by automatically allocating the majority of your system resources (CPU power, RAM etc...) to the currently active applications or games.

* Mz CPU Accelerator 4.1

* PTray

And if you are a frantic PC GAMER like our friend Whiterabbit from UK:

* Razer Game Booster (==> incredible powerful FREE app)
So far the only tool I tried which has really made a huge difference on my system while playing games!!!

Here's what Softpedia says about this program;
"Unfortunately, PCBoost isn't able to do any wonders on your computer, while the way it tries to improve performance is actually quite basic and you could even do it manually straight from within Windows.

PCBoost switches running processes priority between High and Realtime, depending on the active window at a given time, so you may even end up with a slower machine in case something goes wrong."

Personally, I don't like what it says in the publisher's description about being able to "force" programs to run faster. Presumably some other program or process will then be forced to run slower? It sounds like a handy way to make your system unstable.

Thanks GOTD, but I think I'll give this one a miss.

Pros
*Uses two methods to try to help increase performance:
*Has a built-in CPU benchmark
*Easy to use

Cons
*Eh. Bold claims are backed up with not-so-bold functionality.

Thanks, Ashraf, for reminding everyone that this sort of software "... will have little to no effect if you have no CPU use issues."

RE: PCBoost raising program/process priority...
There's a reason most software is set to run at normal priority -- in fact, software that performs really processor intensive stuff like encoding video may be set to lower than normal priority in its preferences, so you're not in effect locked out of your PC/laptop while it's encoding. That was [is] a problem with single core CPUs, where mouse/keyboard input would seem to be ignored until the CPU was no longer so busy. If you've got a muilti-core system [I think most are nowadays], raising an app's priority *may* in certain circumstances give it a slight boost -- in win7 you can easily find out by right clicking that app in Task Mgr. & setting it's priority higher. It may do more good shutting down unneeded apps, processes, &/or services so there's less demand on resources to start with -- win8 is better than win7 is better than XP when it comes to using minimal resources for anything in the background. But again as Ashraf pointed out, if you don't have issues there's nothing to improve.
.
PCBoost also: "Constantly switches the foreground application to use the least used processor core on multi-core computers; ensuring applications always have the most CPU power available to them." I think that *may* be a solution in search of a problem -- I haven't seen it myself but maybe I'm lucky? If you experience a system slowdown check the performance tab in Task Mgr. -- if only one core shows any activity & it's maxed, maybe PCBoost will help. Otherwise, while you've got Task Mgr. on-screen check out the processes for your security software -- if any show CPU usage that may be why things slowed down, because your security stuff is scanning your drive(s) or watching/examining processes & files in use.

Personally, in my experience & all that... like most people that have been around PCs a while, I'm definitely not a fan of any sort of performance boosting software. They can help a little when a PC/laptop is marginal for the task(s) you want it to perform, & they can be a bit of an ego booster for those who want to be seen as some sort of geek, but if you've got the right hardware setup for what you want/need to do, they're [most] often not worth the cost/effort. You want speed, buy the best CPU & GPU you can afford, & optionally overclock it. You don't have to go overboard, but don't skimp on RAM. There are Windows apps to control CPU clock speeds -- you're better off using a board with a good bios & setting things there. Higher power & speeds require more cooling -- cooling that won't fit into a very small case & definitely can't be shoehorned into a laptop... if you want/need the smaller form factor that's cool, but you'll often pay more & most always get less. When it comes to apps that may help load balancing etc. for multitasking, it can be healthier [for you] to remember that multitasking doesn't require a PC -- rather than trying to get more done with a PC while a job's running, consider doing something that doesn't need a PC, but does mean getting up out of your chair & moving around. Electronics like a PC are MUCH easier to fix [or replace] than the human body, which has yet to evolve to sitting in a chair. :)

Wow, software like that, which is proven to do nothing that it claims, then on top of that the fake reviews from one-time-reviewers-nothing-but-all-pgware-products on CNET (newsguy09, reviewed the whole PGWARE catalogue with 5! stars on the same day in 2005) is proof enough for the placebo effect the company creates with the softwares.

One serious reviewer made a summary with one nifty sentence out of the box after seeing the first 5 or 6 5-star-rewiews on PGWARE's PcBoost 4.6.10.2013:

"The ripoff outfit PGWARE who produce this snake oil have packed the reviews with their shills, OBVIOUS FAKES who sing its praises. This is obvious to anyone who has actually installed this awful, buggy scam of a program that tries to dupe the less-knowledgeable.
...
In addition, PGWARE has a script on its web server that floods the desktops of those visiting (from sites it disapproves of) with hundreds of popups forcing a reboot, ironically accusing the *user* of criminal wrongdoing... Such practices are clearly the work of malicious, unprincipled "insert some secret word here" who prey on the less fortunate, not professional software developers.
"

Read the full review here, that guy deserves a Oscar, for the summary (review #9 from the top or #2 from the bottom), it's from 2004 - old - and still current at the same time!:
http://download.cnet.com/PcBoost/3640-18512_4-13163619-2.html

There are programs in the www, that are able to make some differences, they probably do all not have a PGWARE stamp on it. My advice to PGWARE and their software catalogue: rewrite all products from scratch and rebrand existing and proven technology, that is better than offering programs that are able to do nothing and simply cheat on customers and their money.

If you have too much money in the month and you wanna "Run to the Hills" because you feel like a Rockstar for a day, then buy PGWARE programs and live the wasteful life.

To all visitors, expect NOTHING, if you have bad pc performance, think about upgrading hardware, buy a better CPU, more RAM, a decent graphics card, if you need more RAM, buy a new RAM channel or a Dual-Channel pair, if your internet is slow, think about changing the provider and invest more money per month for a better connection but please, don't think that software - no matter what it claims it can do to have a reason to get your money - will make significant differences, it won't, only physical hardware with those technical capabilities will, some call that evolution in computer history, if you would achieve that with softwares, we still would ride on a Pentium I with 512 MB RAM into the Wild West sun, that sounds so romantic but the reality isn't, if you wanna ride, get a good horse!
