The window size is fixed with no option to maximize or resize at all, and I see no zoom-in/zoom-out controls or way to manipulate the start and end points down to the sample level, with the big freeware/open source applications out there that can do this and better, to warrent being a comercial application it really needs to do the editing in a lossless or as near lossless as possible manner, ie it needs to know the internal format of every file type it suppports and edits them in their native format by cropping off the excess frames etc and tweaking the start and end frames if relevent to the current format to include only the chosen samples inserting silence before and after the chosen data to the end of the current frames. This one apears to convert to some raw format on loading hence the load progress bar... and then converting back or to the chosen format on exit.
From all looks it is just a simple ringtone maker not a dedicated music cutting tool.

SUMMARY: Program effectively and efficiently does what it says it will do. Big thumbs up for today's GiveAway. Thanks, GOTD and MusicCut, for this nice program.
FREE, OPEN-SOURCE,FULL-FUNCTION, AUDIO-SUITE OPTIONS INCLUDE:
Audacity
Traverso
This program is crap! The wave form it displays when opening an audio file is just a graphic! It does not relate to the audio it is playing! The wave does not represent the silences in the file or the loud points. It is the same graphic every time! Shocking, awful piece of rubbish. I agree something simpler than Audacity is desirable - but this? Was this a student project - knocked up in a week maybe? Really..... Steve
Hi,
Bilal # 10 said "I have been looking for a program like this.
Installed smoothly,liked the UI
Thumbs Up for this one
thanks GAOTD"
Bibal has at the time of my post has 14 thumbs down.
I used to test the software and post, but now with so many people giving negative thumbs down I no longer post here, it seems like a waste of time. Bila said something perfectly normal, a "Thank you" to Give Away for today's software.
I am a programmer, I once spent two hours of my time testing something, it was never approved because I said something that in my mind was important, but also negative to the give away at the time. If people continue to thumb down other peoples perfectly legitimate remarks then people will stop posting their valid comments, just as I have done.
I guess this will not be posted, I write in the hope that it will.
To #27 (Andy Pandy) I agree completely with you.....my #14 comment so far has 10 negative votes (why? I don't know) because I am providing everyone with useful information about alternative open-source programs that do much more than today's GiveAway, so the 10 negative votes is incomprehensible to me-cannot understand this at all.
To answer your question - I believe that certain people like to give negative votes just for the heck of it - even if it does not make any sense at all. They are simply negative-trigger-vote-happy.
By the way, I gave your comment a positive (plus) vote, and I'm sure the negative-vote-trigger-happy folks will also give this comment many negative votes - I may also eventually stop posting on GOTD if this negative trend continues-no appreciation for our efforts.
Will this get posted? Not sure - but I hope so.
Cheers,
Happy
