Well, I found this GAOTD pretty much interesting, despite its current low and (once again) misleading GAOTD rating.
The idea to create filters so as to add them on your photos is no bad and deserves a THUMBS UP, but the FREEWARE "NPS Image Editor" does the same and even more for FREE (and it's also PORTABLE):

And for a more comprehensive FREE & PORTABLE image editing tool:

Enjoy!
My 2 cents....
@ Mags and gypsy:
If you can't click OK after you pasted the code, please check if you have copied the code exactly: no extra space in front or behind the key. When the key is correct, the OK button will work.

"Not very many filters to play with and quite a few I can’t see many people using."
You misunderstand this programme.
This is software for creating filters and add them to your photos.
The downloaded effects are "only" templates.
Please have a look at the website of Braindistrict:
"... A sophisticated filter “factory” that lets you create and share amazing transformations by combining filters and effects in unlimited ways..."

I tried to install it on win7 64 bit. All went fine untill I wanted to register this program. I put the serial number on it´s place and couldn´t click ok... nothing happened.
Hello Mags,
if the window with the key disappeared after you clicked OK, check Help-->About. It should say the version is registered.

As many others noted, the user interface (skin) is terrible, with its grey letters on a black background.
Because of this, I have not been able to enter the key (I presume; I cannot check whether or not I registered because the "About" screen is illegible also).
These black screens became fashionable one or two years ago; as soon as some compamies started using them, many others, afraid of appearing unsophisticated and not "modern", jumped on the illegibility bandwagon.
Corel, with PaintShop Pro, responded correctly. After vociferous complaints, they produced an updated version including 4 (four!) GUI's. The user can take his pick; especially the light blue interface is tops. Thisa requires very little coding ...
As is, the present program is WORTHLESS to me, and, as I expect, to at least 20 percent of possible users. (Yes, I am 81 years old, but do not believe programs should be legible only to young people in darkened cubicles with possibly better monitors than mine!)

Looks like it could be an interesting program, unfortunately as an older user (70+) I do find the colour scheme makes it extremely difficult for me to read.
For instance under, Node Graph Editor, Templates I found the script impossible to read; the interface needs a lot of work as it is not particularly intuitive, no hints on mouse over icons a bit of a surprise, maybe a simple video to get people started would help.
Hopefully, someone will give a bit of a test and let us know how it goes on, having said that I'll keep it for the time being and try and give it a go.
