You cannot even specify the method of generating the 256 or less colour palette used to create the or provide a custom .PAL file for it to use! How can you expect to make a High Quality (that is what HQ means right) GIF file animated or not without control over the colour reduction system used? Also PCWinsofts website is STILL down and has been down for a few days, I noticed from another giveaway of theirs on BDJ website! GAOTD are not going to like me saying this but it needs to be said anyway even if it means the censors edit or block my comment this software illegally distributes the GPLv3 licensed FFMPEG.EXE in its closed source package by stupidly trying to install it into the logged in user Documents sub folder which by default in windows 10 and hopefully above is blocked because it's done in a manner that cannot be approved of as the write is done from a temporary spawned none exe .tmp file like ransomware might do... it's not ransomware but is just improperly designed and implemented illegal software. It does not generate GIF files internally but abuses FFMPEG.EXE to create low quality generic GIF files with zero quality control or optimisations like could have been implemented if they bothered to learn the GIF generation algorithms and implemented them within their own program legitimately. Choices like to dither or not, to use custom palettes the use specific types of dithering... to use transparency encoding on areas that do not change from one frame to the next in an animation sequence to potentially significantly reduce the data complexity of subsequent frames and make them more compressible using the standard LZW compression method, in a similar manner to how MPEG compression works with unchanging data from one frame to the next...
