** The GAOTD version gets nailed by anti-virus software due to a DLL file (erdmpg4.dll).
But you can go to GoldAudioMedia, download the regular trial version which has the clean DLL, and use the registration info provided in the GAOTD download.
This was brought up on the Dutch language version of GAOTD, I just figured it might be useful for a more international audience too :p

Which is only true IF your soundcard HAS those inputs and from Vista onwards most sound-chipsets either do not in hardware or have them removed in the music industry sanctioned device drivers.

They could have written a special pseudo-device driver that intercepts all sound output and offers it as in input pin on the pseudo-device as well as passing the sound on to the sound chip proper but they did not. They rely solely on the built in sound infrastructure which means in most modern computers all you have as input source, even with the "show disabled devices" option ticked, in recording devices vista recording devices control panel window.
Thumbs down for deceptive features listing and lazey programming for comercial product.

I know from the past that this is a very fine program. However, it cannot be installed if your anti-malware program is on top of the situation, because the installer will try to rename a file during the process. This is of course a wrongful way of installing, but I assure you that the program is harmless. There is nothing wrong, but you may have to first disable your firewall/anti-spyware program, before installing.

Another shambolic situation arising from GOTD's seeming inability to differentiate between established products from established developers and new & untried stuff from developers deliberately naming themselves after others.

The 'gold' standard for this type of software is Goldwave from

Back in May, GOTD made Gold Wave available. There's a space between the words but novices wouldn't have noticed (which was just what the developers were counting on.)

Now here's another 'Gold' something which has nothing to do with Goldwave, rather it's yet another attempt to sow confusion.

Why does GOTD associate itself with outfits which seek to pass off themselves and their products in so misleading a way????

Definitely not for DLing or testing so thanks but no thanks, GOTD.
