# 5 and #7 - obviously the same person. Why are you claiming these are your reviews? As a commenter on this site mentioned yesterday, you had directly lifted your review from the Softonic review. And again today: http://www.softpedia.com/reviews/windows/MultiStage-Recovery-Review-36112.shtml
You do realize that plagiarism is serious, don't you?
The person who's posting under multiple names to direct traffic to their blog is not only plagiarizing the review, but it's a review of version 1.6; this is version 3.6, which is a rerun and is very old. For most purposes, the continually updated freeware Piriform Recuva is better (I recommend the Slim Installer on the Builds page). It has a largely right-click interface, and there are Options available in Advanced Mode. For serious recovery, there are other alternatives, such as NTFS.com Active Boot Disk (pricey, but it's a collection of disk utilities, and they have other software, including freeware).
This MultiStage Recovery doesn't support Unicode file name.
There are free software like Pandora Recovery which do support Unicode and it has similar features as MultiStage
Great review at download.com and one of the top download there.

***dotTech is going through some upgrades right now so I am unable to write a full review. If the upgrades get finished in time I will go back and write one but for now this will have to do***
I never have liked file recovery tools because with the amount of data that is created/deleted on your computer in a daily basis, it becomes very hard to undelete/recover that one file that you need.
In terms of finding deleted files, MultiStage Recovery does a fair job; in fact it finds more files then any other tool I have on me right now (including TuneUp Utilities 2008 and WinUtilties 6.2). MSR even has a nice filtering ability where it only looks for certain file types. The only problem with MSR is that it is extremely slow.
MSR has a "recovery wizard" that helps you through the file recovery process. You choose your partition you want to scan. You must tell MSR if the partition has been formatted or not. Depending on your answer you will get to choose what type of scan to do. The "default scan" is very quick - too bad it doesn't find anything. "Low level file search" is the scan that allows you to search for specific types of files. "Search for missing NTFS files" is another option. Both "Low level" and "Search for" are extremely slow.
I am sure if I had two hours to allow MSR to do a complete scan of my hard drive I will find many recoverable files. Then if I had another two hours to look through all the found files, I may find files I want to recover. However I don't have that time. I am sure many of you don't either. Unless you have a lot of time on your hands, I wouldn't bother with this program if I were you.
Did not run after appearing to install OK on Vista Home (32 bit), logged on as Admin.

Que interessante, na página oficial o software custa $39.95.
Por que será que o Giveway of the Day diz que custa $10.00 a mais?
