Anyone ever heard of the "whois" command? That's what this tool I mean toy is based around... there are so many 3rd party programs that automate the whois process providing whois server selection based upon the specific top level domain (TLD) and drill down to registrar specific whois servers for additional registrant information. I use an old no longer developed tool called "sam spade" for most domain and server basic investigations. Not all the functions work without manual intervention due to server data format changes but it's still usable for me. Another tool of merit is "Whois ULTRA" from the developer that owns the site http://www.analogx.com/contents/download/network.htm All his programs/utilites are free and remarkably small in footprint.

Is there ONE SINGLE software from vovsoft that does NOT phone home and transfers some of your data to their servers?
Btw, their own domain. vovsoft.com, is "See PrivacyGuardian.org" - so they stay anonymous while harvesting (at least some of) your data.
I think vovsoft should be avoid, but that's just what I think about them. Btw, developers who have almost ENDLESS lists of software, will very probably NOT really devote too much effort on any single one of those - except that the phoning-home part will probably be identical or similar in all those, so that might be the most elaborate part of it.

I'm a bit concerned that it needs UAC permission to run. What is it changing on my PC each time it runs? It should just be accessing the internet.

njw, if it needs admin rights to run it's doing something, it shouldn't, like writing settings files in the main program installaion folder or some other stupid thing so I won't be installing it.
