Windows XP, Vista, 7 and 8; a processor that supports SSE2 as a minimum; at least 1 GHz or higher for best operation; .Net framework 4 is suggested but not required to operate (it is required for several plugins); at least 2 gigs of memory recommended or more (3 or more for Windows 8); 96 dpi screen dots per inch highly recommended

Pretty good tool today especially if you love painting whatever you like using with your PC.
Unfortunately this GAOTD is a limited version of the main program which does not support a lots of key filters out there, such as the 3D designer one.

Every time I run the program a pop-up appears to try to get me to upgrade to the full package and it is very irritating but I can't see how to turn that off.
Then another window appears for the Dogwaffle Community - all the links within it give script errors (I'm using Windows 8) - and again I can't see how to stop that appearing automatically.
There might be some useful drawing effects available but those 2 unnecessary pop-up windows are certainly putting me off.

Used to play with free way back in 2004/2005. Finally splurged and got PD 3, than 6 Howler on the cheap, now have a limited form of 8.2. This is a great giveaway, just beware that the layers are drastically different than how, say, Photoshop or Paint.net, the GIMP, handle layers. However, the sheer amount of effects, including Radiant, a lens flare engine that is drastically better than Photoshop's default, the starfield, all sorts of fun that can be had with the animation toolbox, the particles and animated filters, make this all a winner over most programs available. Just beware, again, those who come in and use the layers-- expect them to be far far different.
This one is definitely a good giveaway!

I also forget that you can get some of the missing filters out of the old Doggybags, where I can probably pull a few from PD 6 Howler with no problems. =) Spherize, for example, can be gotten in Doggybag 2.

installed on XPSP3 but asks for .net4 . I don't have .net4 (only .net2) and it looks as if the GOTD is still working OK.
I don't see in "about" any indication of a registered GOTD.
