Can this software recognize as 'clones', say, two MP3 files whose musical parts are identical and only the tags are different? because this is the case for most MP3 collections.

Yes, it can identify clones even tags are different n content is same. You just need to uncheck tag check boxes to compare by content in music scan or through the simple file scan mode.

it depends upon how many mp3 files have same duration but only duration can't guarantee that the resulted tracks are duplicate. please check 'content' check box (as it is recommended).

You should note that the reverse is possible: the software provides a music search which recognizes two mp3s as clones when their tags are the same, even though the music is different! Check carefully...
