You know an idea is obsolete when you have to explain to a 14 year old what a screensaver is. This company has been around for a while and I am sure they have smart people working for them. I like to see them to come up with a new interesting/ entertaining idea. I probably have over 10 screensavers that I have not used in years. If you need one the one offered today is better than average.

I'm betting people are down voting this just because it's a screen saver and they aren't even willing to try it out. So, installed on Win 8 64 bit without a problem. Average screen saver, definitely nothing to brag about, but have had a lot worse. It's a nice change from the typical ones. Music and sounds are pretty good and like the clock on it. Would like the weather bit more if it could sync into weatherbug or accuweather to get local weather, but it's decent enough.

To Asby, comment number one. We've heard it a thousand times (almost literally). Of course screensavers areno loger applicable to most users. That said, there are those that are still using old crt screens, plus, most users who still purchase screensavers, don't buy them for that reason. It's something to stare at occasionally. If no one was buying them anymore, sites like Astro Gemini and others would no longer exist.
There's obviously still a market for them.
Even if today's screensaver gets a majority thumbs down. for every percentage point in the positive there are at least a 1000 to 1500 users downloading the screensaver. On average there's betweem 100 to 150 thousand downloads from this site every day.
By the way, I use several of my screensavers regularily. The Mechanical Watch - not only is it beautiful, it's useful as well, Planet Earth, my kids have loved watching iot spin around and have even used it for basic geography with them, The Storm, Dark Castle, and a couple of Fish screensavers (eg Aquazone 2 which is brilliant) as well as a few that I managed to save from previous giveaways such as the dinosaurs one. :)

@ #1 Asby, You do have to speak for yourself because screensavers are just fun. I mean if you know fun. It is not about needing it.
I like the scenery and the colours. The style is a bit cartoonish.
There is a stable viewpoint, you won't get seasick -lol-
But the weather changes a bit to quick. I guess there is an optimum between fast and livey and on the other site slow and boring.
Because it is all this fast you've seen it all very quickly, no room to just have some thoughts about the visuals.
I like screen savers and I'm sure there are more like that. I can ofcourse also only speak for my self, but this proves at least that different opinions do excist.
So ASBY you better do explain your 14 year old what a screensaver is. Could be, he likes screensavers to if you let him.

It's nice but nothing wow. The biggest flaw I see is it doesn't follow the screen resolution, I see black around screensaver image.
