I like this program. I use it for collector edition games. I let it scan the setup file and extract the wallpaper images. I can use them without having to play the game first. If you already have version 5.2 from the previous giveway, you can install this to the same folder. In my case when I started the program, the key was already entered. All I had to do is press the register button. Thank you GAOTD team for all that you do for us. Thank you to the publisher, Fotis Software, for Your gift.
Always loved this product..as I can't stand using .dll files for icons this little program rips them quite nicely.
Only thing I could wish for is something like a way to add additional file identifications to be able to rip those types. (Marco Pontello's Home - Software - TrID for example)
But besides that can't complain the program fast and easy to use.
This will not install - when I run it I get the message - download period has expired - which clearly it hasn't
Hi, Few things immediately unclear to me or misleading?? Warning! - my nerves are somewhat shattered already, lol.
When I first went on AllMediaGrabber Home Page (before downloading, installing, but naturally reading Comments, as always) - I briefly looked at ScreenShots of this Program, especially the second one with images of all nicely extracted Files (thumbnails, I presume), thinking - hmm, I know just which Folder I would like to use "Grabber" for..(namely my desktop wallpaper Data, some images have native to that Program extensions, but loads and loads are either jpg or bmp, so would be nice to sift this lot and save images I'm interested in..)
Yes, The Program extracted images (first on default settings, all types of Files selected, then only jpgs and bmps and since search Settings, DON'T match Filter Settings - You will still see "all files" found anyway, not what interests you, why??) - but, hello? Where is the view of found images I've seen in ScreenShots on their page?? What's the trick? Looking through the buttons on Toolbar selecting different positions in "view" list did NOTHING, then getting annoyed at not SEEING anywhere "select all", but by fiddling and right-mouse clicking on one file (where that option stupidly sits!!), I found again "view option" and selected thumbnail, thinking I obviously didn't make myself clear enough from Toolbar. Nah, no view either. In second Window after you (again) press Find Files, or so (good question!) - not all files you previously selected show, but handful, and ONLY if on the left you select Types of Files you want to SEE (for God's sake!) - thumbnails (of that handful, not all) will show..
I went to see Help for this annoying behavior, ah, you have to save files first (what, without viewing??) - can you save selected files both - found/extracted? HOW?!! Later on, somewhere (over the rainbow) you will come across "save as"..
Oh, to persue matters further (yes, I obviously wasn't punished enough) - went on their Home Page again to examine that "view" thing - to spot (only then) that they are shown on Advance Version!?? Sure enough Version I downloaded and activated today shows Standard Version.. any bearing on issues mentioned by me here?? Just asking.
If by any chance Anybody today (or in the past!) had a pleasant JOURNEY(!) in discovering for the first time what this Softer does, or by using it's much needed "know how" - then please tell me this is a superb and clever Tool (really:) and I don't know first thing about how Software should work! My described wrestling here concerns only two types of Files - jpgs and bmps.. Naturally I also have the whole variety of Files AllMedia Grabber CLAIMS to find, now there's a thought to wet one's appetite..!:)
Used this before and found it somewhat buggy and over blown. To simply extract any icon I use this little freebie
http://frientoosh.com/downloads.php
And to turn any image into an icon try:
http://www.softpedia.com/get/Multimedia/Graphic/Image-Convertors/IconLev.shtml
Both are tiny programs without any bells and whistles.
Dear users,
The download package has been updated ("_LoadTreeView" error fixed). If you your system returns “The key cannot be decrypted” message when launching Setup.exe, please be so kind to re-download the archive.
Sorry for the inconvenience you experience.
Regards,
GOTD project team
